Welcome!

The Iowa Sailing Club's purpose is to promote the sport of sailing by providing equipment and organizing sailing related activities.  The membership is open to anyone interested in sailing. The club owns over 45 sailboats which members sail from April to November on Lake Macbride. The UISC provides lessons throughout the sailing season. The Club also sponsors racing at an intraclub and intercollegiate level.

Join us for meetings at the the Iowa Memorial Union on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm. Check the calendar, and watch the listserv for upcoming events.

 

We need your help!

We have vacancies in the following positions:

  • Vice Commodore - Organizes sailing instruction
  • Social Organizer - Organizes a group of club members to create social events for club members (cookouts, parties, movie nights, etc)
  • Fleet Captain - Organizes a group of club members to repair/maintain the fleet
  • Historian / Record Keeper
  • Photographer
  • Scuttlebutt / Newsletter Editor
  • Safety Officer
  • If you are interested in becoming an officer, please contact the Commodore.
