Judges comments

In the student category, we picked Dan Rogge's iceboating photo. We thought it was probably the most interesting photo of the contest with its extreme depth-of-field and good composition. Plus the fact that it must have been pretty tough for Rogge to take that shot while trying to steer the ice boat with his knees...

In the student category we'd also like to give an honorable mention to Caglar Akcay's wide-angle photograph of the South Arm. It's a very nice shot that makes Lake MacBride seem bigger and prettier than it looks in most photos.

In the non-student category, we awarded the prize to Bill Budelier's photo of the happy E-scow crew. It makes sailing look like fun.

We'd also like to give an honorable mention in the non-student category to Dave Steinman's shot of the two Hobies.
