3. Unfinished business.

Moved (Huntley/Woodworth) that the ISC abandon plans for holding a 40th reunion celebration, concentrating instead on strengthening the Club locally.

Moved (Flowers / Darling) what was in effect a substitute motion, that the 40th Reunion Celebration be combined with the Bastille Day celebration. The substitute motion discussed, the question called, the motion passes unanimously.

Commenting on this decision, Jenny reports that

!) Steve Branin and Jayne McQuillan have offered their farm as a place for holding the combined Celebration;

that 2) Jim Torner reminds us that 3 former members of the Club are eager to help organize the celebration, Robin Torner, Ann Robinson, and Ann Stokley (Sunshine); Bea Woodward in Dubuque may also give the planners some guidance from her experience 15 years ago.

that 3) next week, at the Officers’ Meeting, she will announce Committee appointments for organizing the “Iowa Sailing Club’s 40th Bastille Day Reunion and Celebration”;

and that 4) the event will take place on the weekend of July 16 and 17.
