ISC Members’ Meeting
5/21/2005 at the Boathouse
These minutes read, corrected, and adopted at the ISC Mbrs’ Meeting of 5/28/05
The meeting called to order by Commodore Flowers at 1545, 14 persons attending.
1. Minutes from the Members’ Meeting of 5/11/2005 were read and adopted.
2. Officer’s reports:
A. Commodore, Erin:
Summer teaching series runs from 5/28 through 6/11. The Club Rules test will be given 6/12.
The Red Rock sailing venture is scheduled for 6/18 thrugh 6/20.
B. Rear Commodore, Safety Officer, Todd:
Report postponed.
C. Harbor Master, Dave:
The HM will check with Dave Lippy about the possibility of welding together some boat dollies on the pattern of the Seitech dollies.
Trees were trimmed back around the boat storage areas last week; Dustin (the tree trimmer) will return to cut a few of them back even further.
Dolly tires have been repaired; the road trailer tires need checking before running on the highway.
D. Fleet Captain, Richard:
A call for volunteers to help sort sails on Sunday, 5/22, starting about 1100.
E. Membership, Heather:
ISC now enrolls 112 members (41 being students).
3. Unfinished business.
There being none, Erin advanced the meeting to consider . . .
4. New business:
A. Saturday afternoons, small donations will be solicited to cover costs of the picnic cookout.
B. A brief discussion of “open house” days followed, no action being taken.
C. A brief discussion about soliciting volunteers to help with the work of the club ensued, no action being taken. Huntley reminded those present that at the end of the summer season, Heather and Todd (Membership and Safety), are scheduled to report to the Club how well volunteer calls have succeeded, and to propose alternative approaches if appropriate.
D. Moved (Adkins/Huntley) to trailer 4 FJs to Red Rock for participation in the National FJ Regatta (6/17--6/20, Friday through Monday). Motion discussed, question called and passed unanimously.
E. Moved (Clark/Seiss) that the ISC, for about $38, join the FJ National association. Motion discussed, question called and passed unanimously.
5. Announcements, etc.
Today’s informal club races (with Joe Fricton as Race Committee ) produced these results for individual sailors (low points win): Bill B. 12 / Piotr 20 / Scott 20 / Joe 21 / Bills 21 / Erin 29 / Heather 35 / Dave 39 / Warren 41. Congratulations to all.
No new Albatross nominations were made. The honor remains with last week’s winner for another week.
