ISC Members’ Meeting
5/28/2005 at the Boathouse
The meeting called to order by Commodore Flowers at 1545, 13 persons attending.
1. Minutes from the Members’ Meeting of 5/21/2005 were read, corrected, and adopted.
2. Officer’s reports:
A. Membership, Heather:
Notices have been e-mailed to former sailors whose memberships have expired.
ISC now has 140 members on its books; 19 new members were added today, the first teaching day of the summer series.
B. Commodore & Vice Commodore, Erin:
The call for LWH and above to volunteers as sailing instructors for new members on teaching days draws forth, for the most part, only the same, familiar, small group of loyalists. The number of new and prospective members who come to learn about sailing increases. Consequently, we must recruit more volunteers to help teach them.
Next week, Erin being out of town, Rich Adkins and Heather Clark will help organize Teaching Day #2.
C. Fleet Captain, Richard:
The job of sorting through old sails proceeds--progress made; more to do.
The Red Rock FJ National regatta plans proceed apace. Four ISC boats, and 5 ISC helmsmen will be going; there’s room for more crew. E-mail Richard immediately if any person is interested—4 days of sailing and good times, camping out, $30 meal ticket for catered food, lots and lots of sailors milling about having a good time. E-mail Richard if interested in crewing with somebody or in just going out to watch.
D. Harbor Master, Dave:
The minutes from last week should be corrected to show that he and Dave Lippy will talk about constructing some more dollies on the pattern of the Seitech dollies.
E. Treasurer & Safety Officer, Todd:
Todd, being absent, his report is postponed.
3. There being no unfinished business, Erin proceeded to new business.
4. New business.
Moved (Huntley/Adkins) that next week’s meeting be cancelled because both the Commodore and the Secretary will be out of town. Normally the first meeting of each month is a meeting of the Exec. Officers; this is cancelled. The next ISC Members’ Meeting will take place, as regularly scheduled, on Saturday, 6/11, after sailing.
5. There being neither announcements nor fresh nominations for the Honor of the Albatross, Erin adjourned the meeting at 1610.
Respectfully submitted,
John Huntley, secretary
